poetic license

This zine was made by Malakai a zinemaker from Southeast U.S.

We gave them some space to tell us about themselves, their process, and what inspires them. This is what they said:

My name is Malakai, I’ve been making zines for almost 2 years as a way to raise awareness, express myself, spread joy and connect with my community.

While an avid fan of digital zines, I’ve started to fall back in love with the process of making zines traditionally. My process is messy and cluttered, I just let my creativity decide what goes into the zine in the heat of the moment!

Praxis is thoughtful action. I called my zine shop “Praxis Zines” because my work is deliberate doing, as opposed to waiting around hoping that my art makes itself, or that my community becomes aware of people like me on its own.
